The ZMC-Z900 adopts a continuous and automated pulp molding workflow:
1. Raw Material Preparation
Sugarcane bagasse pulp boards, wood pulp boards, or other pulp sheets are fed into the hydrapulper.
2. Pulping and Storage
High-consistency pulp tank
Dilution pulp tank
Pulp is adjusted to the required concentration before entering the forming machine pulp tank.
3. Vacuum Forming
The pulp slurry is vacuum-suctioned onto precision molds to form wet cup lids.
4. Dual-Side Hot Pressing
After forming, the wet lids are transferred to the left and right hot press systems, where moisture is removed and the final shape, thickness, and surface smoothness are fixed.
5. Trimming and Packing
Finished lids are sent to a separate trimming machine for edge cutting and then stacked and packed.
For higher automation, the system can be equipped with a robotic arm to transfer products between forming, hot pressing, and trimming stations, reducing labor and improving consistency.

In pulp molding, mold design is not simply about shaping a product—it defines its strength, cushioning performance, dimensional stability, and production efficiency.
Unlike plastic or metal forming, molded pulp products rely on a complex interaction between fiber behavior, water removal, and structural geometry. Because a product can only have one wall thickness, designers must rely on functional structures such as ribs, cavities, and honeycomb patterns to meet performance requirements.
Another major challenge is deformation control. Pulp molded products begin as wet preforms, and shrinkage is never uniform. Without proper process-oriented structural compensation, warping and twisting are unavoidable.
Key parameters such as draft angle, wall thickness, and fillet radius directly affect demolding, drying energy consumption, and defect rates. Small design decisions often determine whether a product runs smoothly in mass production—or becomes a constant quality issue.
Well-designed pulp molding molds are the result of process understanding, material science, and structural engineering working together.
